A very peaceful composition! Have you looked at ways to reduce haze in the background either before shooting or in the postprocessing step?

The haze is pretty much as reduced as possible; and I kind of like the distancing effect because that's really how it looks on the lake. But yeah, you're right, I should have tried to do more to reduce it in the post-processing stage.
