Dec 18, 2009 - Preparations for 2010
To start 2010 the forums have changed considerably, we're looking to promote greater forum interaction of our main site users with a more imagery driven forum. To accomplish this we've added a fun new section to the forum with on forum galleries for you to display your photography in a more personal and scaled down setting. We have also expanded the photography discussions to include sections for beginner basics as well as some more advanced learning material and equipment discussions and conversations. Do remember the main site and forum are integrated and the username and password you registered with on the main site logs you in on the forum too.
A few of these new forum galleries include: Black and White The Animal Kingdom Macro The Flower Shoppe Visit the forum to see more... Do remember the main site and forum are integrated, so the username and password you registered with on the main site logs you in on the forum too. We've had some great new users register over the last year and we hope to see more great photographers join our site in the coming year. A few of these new users galleries are: CapCloud Fossilfox MourningCandle The DEV team continues to work on providing more features as well as bug fixes with the v3.2 update expected in the coming months. May 16, 2009 - Recent photos filter
Management has released some new features and a bug has shown up here on PL, what happened is that the site shares a lot of functions with it's parent site. Right now the parent site is working on increasing the quality of what gets displayed on the main site in the recent imagery section wile maintaining movement by running it through some simple filtering using favs, votes and/or comments wile still displaying them in order of newest submission. This filter when it was applied was literally applied to all branch sites simultaneously in a single code amendment. Wile this filter system works very well on it's intended sites, our site is not yet experiencing the traffic level to make it work properly. The DEV team is working on getting it separated and returned to it's normal function for PL but I don't know how long it will take.
As it is now it appears that when users submit their works they are not getting onto the site, but this is not the case. Your images are submitting properly and can be viewed Here (link). |

Mar 31, 2008 - New Features
Management has released some new features (and many bug fixes) for the site. The development team has been working for months on these and they are now finally ready.
New Blog feature: You can now have a blog/journel/whatever in your profile. New e-mail notifications added for when your submissions have been Faved by other users. If you don't want to receive Faving notifications, you can disable them from your "Edit Profile" options. This feature has been missing for a long time and finally got put in place. Also you can now look up who has Faved a piece by clicking on the "Favorites" stat from viewing it. There are now RSS feeds available of most of the site's content. you can put your favorite categories or artists into your feed reader and see updates automatically. * The 3 per day submission limit has been raised to 12 to help with the migration of pictures and the loading of pictures into new user's galleries. * BBCode Image Limit: You can specify in your profile options how many images you wish to view on profile pages and comments (default is 10). Any images beyond this limit will be displayed as text links. If you do not want to view any images, set it to zero. * Various tweaks to the bbCode tools. let us know if any comments or profile information do not display properly. |
